As was the custom at many rural churches (especially Methodist Churches) after Wesley Grove Church was built, a cemetery was soon established behind the church building. The land for the cemetery is composed of a part of the land donated by Singleton King for the original church and two donations by Charles Ward.

Although many of the oldest head stones in the cemetery have no dates, the oldest known date is that of a two month old daughter of S. L. and Mary R. E. King who died in November, 1880.

The early grave lots were provided by the church and the church maintained the cemetery. In 1951 grave sites were selling for as little as $4.00 each. As the use of the cemetery increased, money was solicited from the families owning grave sites for maintenance. During the 1950's a program of perpetual care was established by the Official Board of the Church. The price of grave sites was increased to provide a fund large enough to produce income to pay for maintenance. Grave sites sold for $20.00 in 1955, increased to $30.00 in 1962, and $60.00 in 1967. Today, they sell for a much higher price.

Mrs. Norine Ward (wife of Charles Ward) took complete charge of the cemetery for many years. She handled the sale of lots as well as maintenance. Lindsey McElfresh later assumed some of these duties until 1968.
